‘Bird Song’, ‘Luna Ascending’ and ‘Emerald Rock’ are three works of art which have been presented to Kishin Alwani as Chairman of the Kishin Alwani Foundation in appreciation of his support for local art.
Ambrose Avellano, Shane and Dalmedo and Paul Cosquieri presented the works together with a pebble painting by Matija Sapundjieska this week after the Kishin Alwani Foundation sponsored their work at this year’s Edinburgh Art Fair 2018.
The three artists for the first time were able to exhibit their work at the Fair under the umbrella of Massa Art Gallery UK thanks to the foundation. The artists also received sponsorship from the Gibraltar Cultural Services who kindly offered to ship around 40 artworks to the fair and back.
At the presentation this week Mr Alwani said he was delighted to have assisted “three main local artists at an international level” and given them the opportunity to take their work and Gibraltar art outside Gibraltar and into an international level.
All artists are grateful to the Kishin Alwani Foundation for presenting them with the opportunity.
Paul Cosquieri, also president of the Fine Arts Association, said Mr Alwani was a great supporter of the arts locally and this was a way of all three artists showing their appreciation.
All artists found the experience extremely enriching.
