Prime Minister Theresa May travels to Madrid today for a lunchtime meeting with her Spanish counterpart, Mariano Rajo.
No details of the agenda for discussion have been released, although it is understood to include a range of bilateral issues including the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.
Despite speculation in some Spanish media, there is no confirmation that Gibraltar will figure in the talks.
Instead, the discussion is likely to centre on the impact that Brexit could have on the 310,000 Britons living in Spain and the 102,000 Spaniards living in Britain.
