The Governor, Lieutenant General Edward Davis, was given an insight into the work of Gibraltar Customs with a visit to its headquarters earlier this week.
Lt Gen Davis was welcomed by the Collector of Customs John Rodriguez, who gave him a briefing on the law enforcement agency’s work.
This was followed by a tour of various sections within HM Customs where he was able to meet a wide cross section of staff.
The visit ended with a trip on both Customs vessels, HMC Seeker and HMC Searcher, during which Lt Gen Davis had the opportunity to take the helm.
Mr Rodriguez said: “This was a great opportunity to brief His Excellency on the extensive and varied role of Gibraltar Customs and for him to experience this firsthand.”
