HM Customs seized £150,000 worth of cannabis and a high powered vessel in what was a busy weekend at sea for the agency.
On Saturday afternoon, Customs vessel HM Seeker engaged in a chase with a Spanish jet-ski off the east side, forcing it to jettison one bale of cannabis, weighing approximately 30 kilos.
The bale was recovered and has a street value of £150,000 however, the jet-ski made good its escape into Spain.
In a separate incident during the early hours of Monday, a high-powered RHIB grounded at Catalan Bay, after being involved in a chase with the Spanish SVA.
Customs were on the scene within six minutes and seized the vessel which was empty of both occupants and contraband. Despite an intensive search of the area Customs officers were unable to locate the crew.
