A British man has admitted to filming young girls at Catalan Bay beach over the long weekend.
The La Linea resident pleaded guilty to a charge of committing a disgusting act of outraging public decency by video recording girls under the age of 13.
Following his arrest the 29-year old man who works in Gibraltar, was kept in police custody until his Magistrates’ Court appearance.
Yesterday afternoon the court heard how the La Linea resident cycled to Gibraltar through the frontier, ingested a diazepam pill and then made his way to Catalan Bay beach.
Prosecutor Robert Fischel, QC, told the court the man videoed the 12-year-old girl with his iPhone 6 and followed her from the beach and onto the playground. A total of seven video files of the girl were found on his iPhone.
After this the man returned to the beach and began to film a second female juvenile. A further 15 video files of the girl were found by officers on his iPhone. No other videos of children were found on his phone.
