VISUAL ART FOR SPRING FESTIVAL

VISUAL ART FOR SPRING FESTIVAL

Tonight sees the opening of the Spring Visual Art competition at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery in Casemates. This year there are prizes in five different categories with an overall winner which will be announced this evening by Culture Minister Steven Linares. This year there are 145 entries in all the various sections: painting, drawing prints and digitals, sculpture, photography, video, installation and the Gibraltar theme. This adjudicator is Canadian artist Warren Carther, a sculptor, whose work is predominantly public art installation. The judging took place yesterday. The picture shows Mr Carther and Culture Services CEO designate Seamus Byrne. Pic: Johnny Bugeja.
