Former GSD MP Marlene Hassan Nahon has set up a blog which she will use to communicate with the electorate and explain her new role as an independent in Parliament.
This follows her shock resignation from the GSD last week, something she attributed to ‘toxic’ tensions within the party.
In a post titled ‘The Road Ahead’ she wrote: “Working as an independent Member of Parliament is a new experience for me and a voyage into unchartered territory.”
“Over the next few days and weeks I shall be publishing my vision and strategy, elaborating on what my role will be.”
Mrs Hassan Nahon added that the blog will be the main vehicle for her to communicate with the electorate and share her views on the current issues.
“I will also, as ever, be ready to meet with individuals and will soon share details of how and where I can be easily contacted,” she said.
“I want to take this opportunity to say that I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I have received in the last few days and I wish to thank everyone for your kind words and faith in me.”
