GSD Leader Daniel Feetham and shadow Minster with responsibility for Europe, Trevor Hammond, have held a meeting in Brussels this week with Conservative MEP Julie Girling.
On the agenda was the EU Referendum, support for the ‘Stronger In’ campaign in Gibraltar and issues affecting, or that may affect Gibraltar coming from the EU. Mrs Girling who is expected to visit Gibraltar at the end of May had emphasised to both men that Gibraltar had a role to play in keeping Britain in Europe and the importance of voting for the ‘Stronger In’ campaign at the referendum.
Speaking from Brussels yesterday, Mr Feetham said, the meeting on Monday evening had been productive with the visit enabling them to discuss mobilization of conservative support for the ‘In Campaign in Gibraltar’ and a number of contingency scenarios.
