UK censors details of IRA shootings in Gibraltar

The British Government has redacted key passages relating to the IRA shootings in Gibraltar from previously secret Cabinet minutes released to The National Archives in London today.

The Cabinet discussed Gibraltar on more than a dozen occasions during 1987 and 1988, according to the declassified minutes.

However, key passages, including the notes on the Cabinet meeting held four days after the killings, continue to be withheld by the British Government, which has redacted the file.
