A drug case in the Magistrates Court collapsed last week after prosecutors refused to offer evidence relating to a paid police informer.
The case involved a defendant who had pleaded guilty to importing cannabis resin into Gibraltar but disputed the amount of drugs that prosecutors claimed he was carrying.
Prosecutors wanted him sentenced for 49.93 grams found in his rucksack but the man would only admit to 0.6 grams found in a cigarette box.
He said he did not know how the other drugs ended up in his rucksack.
